"Fore" People with Alzheimer's
07/27/09, East Hartford, CT
Many assisted living facilities are using golf "behavior therapy" as a way to help them "act and feel young" by using the skills that many older adults learned when they were younger. Many people with Alzheimer's still retain the ability to enjoy the activities of a simple game of golf.
The treatment can be very expensive, however because it requires individual supervision. As the Boomers age, and more golfers enter assisted living facilities, chances are golf courses may become a regular therapeutic activity.
