You're 30..and Your Memory is Declining
12/02/09, East Hartford
Yes, this is a bit of a wake up call for everyone, especially for those who are not yet 30 years of age!
Aging is a process that begins when we're born, but it begins to rear its head at about age 30 or before.
Researchers at the University of Virginia studied individuals between the ages of 18 to 60. They did puzzles, identified patterns and other similar tests.
The study showed that tasks such as making fast comparisons or remembering information which is unrelated peaked around the age of 22, slowing down at about age 27.
The news is not all bad, however...general knowledge and the use of vocabulary are on the increase until about age 60.
